Obtaining Health Insurance Easily

Surprisingly, to date, there are still a lot of people who do not have health insurances either for themselves or their families. Many of these people are either self employed or those who are individual service providers like writers, artists, carpenters, mechanics and a lot more who work on their own and are not employed by any company or business firms.

For those who are employed, obtaining health insurance would not be a problem because most businesses have group insurance for their employees. While there are still some businesses who only offers accident insurance to their employees without health or life insurances due to cost considerations, many companies are now offering health group insurance since they can effectively lower the cost even in health insurance.

For companies with a large number of employees this is particularly true. But for businesses with only a couple of employees, having health insurance to just several employees will prove costly, thus the reason why they will just offer their several employees the less costly accident insurance.

Employees with group health insurance coverage plan can even request their management to include their family members as well, on a case to case basis. Their monthly share of insurance premiums will have to be of course bigger because of their family member’s coverage.

An employee who has group health insurance coverage with a company can continue with his health insurance coverage even if he resigns from the company. This is in compliance with a law formulated by the government for the benefit of employees. The employee, however, has to pay a higher insurance premium as his coverage will now be an individual form of coverage and not as group coverage since he is not anymore connected with the company maintaining a group insurance.

Self employed person or small businessmen can just as easily have a health insurance including that of their families as well. They can also team up with any organization
in their locality like those of business retailers association and other organization. For artist and craftsmen like plumbers, mechanics, and other individuals who do their
living through their own vocation and are not employed with any company, there are organizations that they can become members of and avail the health care insurance benefits these organizations might offer to their members.

However, if you really would like to have your own health insurance including that of your family, there are many insurance companies who will be willing to provide you their insurance services. Their rates of course will be a little bit higher then the rates they offer for group health insurance.
As a start, you can look for insurance companies from the classified ads of newspapers that offer health insurance. Or you can search the sites of insurance companies and see for yourself the various kinds of insurance services that they offer and other helpful information that you may be able to learn from their site. Look for an insurance company who has an office in your locality.

Your next step is to visit their office and inquire everything about the health insurance that they offer. It is important that you ask them brochure of their company profile and do not forget this, their financial statement of assets and liabilities.

A sound insurance company will not hesitate to provide their prospective clients this information, if only to prove that they are financially stable and can readily provide the
claims of their insured clientele.
