Your Insurance Limitation Is In the Fine Print
Read the fine print. This is the most usual mistake on the part
of insured clients – they take the fine prints which are the
stipulation of insurance coverage for granted. And they would soon
be surprised as to why their medical care cost so much or why they
are the ones to pay for such medical services and not the insurance
companies.
When you get an insurance coverage, you will be going into a contract
with the insurance companies where you will be paying them for a
certain medical services that you might need in the future and which
they will have to shoulder as agreed upon in your contract which
is contained in your policy that the insurance company will issue
to you for your protection.
The stipulations that you see in your policy covers all the services
that the insurance company is bound to give you in terms of shouldering
your future medical needs. This is in consideration of the monthly,
quarterly or yearly premium payments that you will be paying the
insurance company. It is a must on your part that you should give
a time to read and understand the content of your policy so that
you will be fully equipped to know as to what extent your coverage
is, and to fully understand the limitations of your coverage.
If however, you fail to understand some parts of the agreement,
I would advise you to personally visit the office of the insurance
company and clarify with them the parts of the agreement that you
are not clear of. Many insurance policy holders have difficulty
in understanding some of the content of insurance policies.
This is because the policies are full of legal terminology considering
that it is a legal document. Aside from the many legal terminology,
considering that your contract is about medical coverage, the policy
will also have an abundant supply of medical words and phrases that
would further prove hard to the understanding of the common folks.
It is surprising that to this date, no government move has been
initiated to correct this for the benefit of the public. Many people
have suffered the fate of having to pay enormous medical bills just
because they were not able to understand or they happen to misunderstand
the limitations of their medical insurance coverage simply because
of technical legal and medical terminology that they cannot comprehend.
It would be a good move if somebody can call the attention of the
government to this matter and initiate a move for the creation of
a law whereby the wording of insurance policies be made in the clearest
form of language possible easily understood by the public, and to
make their policies not in fine print anymore as what they are doing
until now, but to have it printed in a print that is easily readable
by everybody.
The reason why many would tend to disregard reading the fine print
is because it seems too hard to read it. It is a strain to the eyes
just reading a part of it, more so in understanding the many technical
words. I sincerely believe that soon enough insurance companies
will be mandated by Law to do away with these fine print policies
and give out policies in easy to read text size, with easy to understand
languages for the benefit of the public.
